Hey, I’m lauren!

And I believe that great marketing can change the world.

And especially if that great marketing is done by big-hearted small business owners like you.

Small businesses bring so much magic to the world — through the goods we create, through how we show up in our communities, through how we lead with our values.

If you’re a small business owner, you’re ALREADY making an impact.

I’m here to help you supercharge that impact using the power of great marketing.

Because the more effective marketing you do, the better your business results will be, and the bigger impact you'll be able to make.

ABOUT MAKING GOOD

Making Good is a podcast for people who want a business that makes them money, makes them proud, and makes the world a better place.

This podcast is about two things:

1️⃣ Building a strong small business, and

2️⃣ Using it as a tool for good.

Through solo trainings, expert interviews, with a focus on helping you actually do the thing

Making Good is here to help you explore building a strong small business that makes a difference.

My story

After 8 years in the corporate world, in 2017 I left my job as a marketing director and I opened up Good Sheila, a small-batch paper goods shop. My greeting cards, prints, and vinyl stickers based on my art are now available in shops throughout the country, with 5% of profits donated through my 5% for Good program (which is now also in play at Station 7, see below…)

In late 2019, I took the reins at Station 7, a home and design shop in the heart of Seattle. Station 7 focuses on products that are local and/or made by woman-owned businesses. Station 7 was started by my mom, Danielle, and I’m so proud to have the chance to continue her amazing work.

In 2020, after working with and amongst so many small business owners who struggled with marketing, I started Making Good to help others build strong small businesses that make an impact.

As of January 2022, I also lead Making Good Happen, a membership community for small business owners who want to do better marketing, more consistently.

The good stuff

CLOSE TO MY 💖: racial justice, LGBTQ equality and representation, mental health awareness, animal welfare, environmental preservation, supporting small and local business, and using business as a tool for good.

I LOVE TO: travel, read, listen to podcasts, give baths to my houseplants, take on ambitious baking projects, pick up new creative hobbies - and (let’s be honest) work 🥰

I LIVE IN: Seattle, by the water with my partner Kate, our baby Casey James, and our seriously rude (but so loveable) canine companion Puff.
